Fatal accident in foggy conditions causes death of woman near Walnut Grove, according to CHP.

A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning near Walnut Grove, as a woman lost her life after her vehicle veered into the Sacramento River. California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near the Twin Cities and River roads junction. The vehicle was traveling westbound along Twin Cities when it ran through a stop sign at River Road, plunging into the river from an embankment. Unfortunately, the driver, who was the sole occupant, was ejected into the water and was later found deceased by rescue teams. CHP mentioned that foggy conditions in the area at the time may have played a role in the crash. The vehicle had not been retrieved from the river by Friday afternoon and investigations into the incident are ongoing. The woman's identity has not been disclosed at this time.
