Fatal accident in east China with 8 dead, 4 injured

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night in Liaocheng, Shandong Province, China, resulting in the loss of eight lives and injuries to four people. According to Chiping District authorities in Liaocheng and as reported by News.az citing Xinhua, the incident involved a suspected case of drunk driving. The driver involved, identified as Du, 37 years old, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when he collided with multiple electric bicycles around 10:46 p.m. that evening. Sadly, one individual lost their life at the scene, while seven others passed away despite medical treatment. Currently, four individuals are in stable condition in the hospital. Du is now under police custody. Initial findings suggest that the accident was a result of drunk driving, as Du's blood alcohol concentration level was recorded at 195.3 mg/100 ml. Further inquiries into the matter will continue to investigate the case.
