Fatal accident in Copiah County
A tragic incident is being investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, involving a fatal crash that occurred on MS-27 in Copiah County. Mary Ellen Hux, a 42-year-old resident of New Hebron, was driving a 2021 Ford Bronco southbound when the vehicle veered off the road, collided with a tree, and caught fire. Unfortunately, Hux lost her life in the accident. Trooper Darnika Mayfield provided these details in a news release following the incident.
