Fatal accident in Chicopee results in one death and one injury
A tragic accident occurred on Chicopee Street Wednesday evening resulting in the death of one person and another individual being hospitalized. According to Chicopee Police, the incident took place just north of the 22News station around 8 p.m., with emergency services responding to a 911 call. Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were extracted with the help of Chicopee Fire Department. While the driver unfortunately succumbed to their injuries at Baystate Medical Center, the passenger is expected to recover. The northbound side of the road was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The Chicopee Police expressed their condolences to the victim's loved ones and are actively investigating the crash.
