Fatal Accident in Carroll Township, Washington County
A young man tragically passed away in a car accident that occurred in Washington County in the early hours of Sunday morning. The individual, identified as Matthew J. Roth of Blairsville, was driving along Route 481 in Carroll Township when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a concrete barrier on a bridge at Route 2023, as confirmed by Coroner Tim Warco's office. According to reports, another driver who passed by the scene just before 3:10 a.m. witnessed the crash and subsequent vehicle fire. The coroner's findings indicated that Roth was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Township police are currently investigating the crash, while autopsy results are awaited.
