Fatal accident following police chase on 210 Freeway in Pasadena
A high-speed police pursuit of a grand theft suspect in the Los Angeles County area ended in a fatal crash with a dump truck on Friday morning. The chase began when Ventura County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of grand theft at a Target store in Camarillo. The suspect, accused of stealing over $950 worth of merchandise, attempted to evade a traffic stop and led law enforcement on a chase through various freeways and neighborhoods, reaching speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit concluded with a collision with a dump truck on the 210 Freeway near Pasadena, resulting in the suspect's death. Traffic was disrupted for a few hours but has since returned to normal.
