A tragic accident occurred resulting in one fatality while clearing land in the area between Flowers and Oak Ridge, Mississippi. The incident, involving a 26-year-old individual operating a skid steer equipped with a saw, occurred in a field off Youngton Road near Hannah Road. The victim was struck by a tree that penetrated the front windshield of the equipment, leading to their untimely death. The accident was reported by a co-worker working nearby who attempted to rescue the victim without success. Law enforcement and medical personnel arrived on the scene, but the victim was unable to be saved. Sheriff Martin Pace confirmed that the incident is being investigated, with no suspicion of foul play at this time.
