Fatal accident devastates Conifer food truck community.

The Conifer community is in shock following the tragic deaths of a beloved couple, owners of the Abide Ride Burrito Truck in Conifer, who were killed in a devastating wrong-way crash on Highway 285 earlier this week. The crash, which occurred before 6 a.m. on Monday near Highway 8 in Jefferson County, claimed the lives of the couple, identified as Michael and Debbie Carman. The couple was known for their kindness, generosity, and dedication to feeding others through their food truck. Their friends and loved ones are mourning their loss and are committed to spreading the love and support the Carmans were known for. Both Zena and Norman emphasized the importance of safe driving and the need for new laws to prevent further wrong-way crashes, including advocating for safer driving practices on Highway 285. Loved ones are planning ways to support the Carmans' son, Austin, in continuing the legacy of their food truck business. They also urge all drivers to practice caution while on the road, wear seatbelts, and stay vigilant of other drivers' actions. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Austin during this difficult time.
