Fatal accident causes closure of I-25 N, Colorado State Patrol to investigate
The Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement are currently looking into a tragic accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon on I-25 north. The crash, near milepost 165 north of Woodmoor around 12:15 p.m., involved a silver Honda Accord and a grey GMC Yukon. Tragically, one individual passed away at the scene, while a passenger from the same vehicle was airlifted to a nearby hospital. In light of the investigation, all northbound lanes on the interstate have been closed. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has not provided an estimated time for when the lanes will reopen, and they recommend drivers seek an alternate route. Traffic is moving on the left shoulder, but significant delays are to be expected.
