Fatal accident by BMW results in 1 fatality, according to coroner
An investigation is underway by South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office following a fatal crash that occurred on Monday evening. The incident took place at the intersection of Gateway Drive and Brockman McClimon Road near the BMW manufacturing facility in Greer. The collision involved a 2019 Jeep Wrangler and a 2006 Honda sedan, with the Honda driver tragically passing away at the scene. The driver of the Jeep sustained injuries and was taken to Greer Memorial Hospital for treatment. The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Lewis Montgomery Reece of Inman, with a forensic examination scheduled for the next day.
