Fatal accident at scrapyard in Taunton
A man from Taunton passed away as a result of an accident at a scrap yard in Westport on Friday morning. Emergency responders were called to Mid City Scrap Yard on State Rd. after 11 a.m. for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as Mark Peters, 49, had sustained a severe injury to his legs. Peters was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Various agencies, including Westport police, Massachusetts State Police, and an OSHA Safety and Health officer, responded to the incident.
