Fatal 2-car crash claims life of Lathrop man in Missouri
A man from Lathrop, Missouri tragically passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a collision involving two vehicles in the vicinity of Kansas City. The incident occurred early Wednesday evening. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 55-year-old man from Lathrop was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry southbound on Missouri Highway 33 when he veered across the center line while navigating a curve. A 2014 Volkswagen Passat, traveling northbound on the same highway, tried to avoid the oncoming Camry but was unable to prevent a collision. The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the crash site, while the driver of the Passat sustained "moderate" injuries and was taken to a hospital in Liberty for treatment.
