Family of victims claim driver hid more assets.

Relatives of a family tragically killed in a car accident at a bus stop in San Francisco are now claiming that the driver involved, Mary Fong Lau, attempted to hide assets following the incident. The family has filed a revised claim alleging that Lau, who is facing felony vehicular manslaughter charges, transferred properties into limited liability companies and to third parties, including her son-in-law. This action has prompted the family's lawyers to request more time to gather evidence and include the son-in-law as a defendant to recover assets they believe were improperly transferred. Lau's attorney has stated that the property transfers were not intended to evade potential damages but were advised as part of a post-accident reorganization. The lawyer representing the victims' family insists on continuing the litigation without delay. Lau is currently facing four felony vehicular manslaughter charges for the crash, which took place in March 2024 and killed two parents and their two young children. The district attorney highlighted speed and gross negligence as contributing factors in the tragedy. A makeshift memorial was set up at the site of the crash, and additional safety precautions were implemented in the area afterwards.
