Family mourns woman killed in Beaverdam Swamp crash

In Clinton, North Carolina, a tragic incident occurred on New Year's Eve where a missing woman, Brenda Lamb Register, was discovered deceased in a swamp following a fatal car crash. Sadly, the 68-year-old sole occupant of a 2012 Kia Sorento, who had been reported missing the day prior, was found submerged in the Beaverdam Swamp near the crash site. Investigators reported that the vehicle crossed the centerline, veered off the road, and entered the swamp without leaving skid marks or involving any other vehicles. While the cause of the crash is still unknown, it is uncertain whether Register experienced a medical emergency or swerved to avoid an obstacle on the road. The victim's husband, Winfred Odell Register, shared that Brenda was running errands in Clinton when the accident occurred, with the couple having been married for 38 years. Brenda, a beloved wife, mother of two, and grandmother, was greatly missed by her family who were preparing to celebrate her 69th birthday soon. The crash is currently being investigated by authorities.
