Family confirms identity of 1 victim in Sacramento helicopter crash
The pilot, nurse, and paramedic aboard a medical helicopter that crashed on Sacramento's Highway 50 are currently in critical condition at UC Davis Medical Center. The nurse has been identified as Suzie Smith, a dedicated flight nurse praised for her commitment to helping others. The helicopter was returning to Redding after dropping off a patient at UC Davis Medical Center when the crash occurred. Thankfully, no drivers on the highway were injured in the incident. Suzie is known for her incredible work not only in Northern California but also in places like Nicaragua and Sri Lanka, where she has contributed to medical missions. Suzie's friends and family have expressed gratitude for the first responders and citizen heroes who assisted at the scene, as well as the Reach Medical team for their support during this challenging time. Prayers are being requested for the recovery of all three individuals involved in the accident. The NATSB is investigating the cause of the crash.
