Ex-Deputy from Washington County Charged with Manslaughter for Deadly Motorcycle Accident
A former Washington County Sheriff's deputy, Silafia Clyde Brown, has been charged with manslaughter following a fatal crash involving his patrol vehicle and a motorcyclist in November. Brown, 49, faces a second-degree felony charge, although limited details are available in the associated court documents. Confirming Brown's involvement in the incident, Sgt. Lucas Alfred of the Washington County Sheriff's Office revealed that Brown is no longer part of the department. The tragic accident took place on Old Highway 91, resulting in the death of motorcyclist Daniel Jack Monfore. The Washington County Sheriff's Office cooperated with the Utah Highway Patrol's investigation, with the decision to file charges coming from the Washington County Critical Incident Task Force and UHP following their investigation. ABC4 has sought further information from the Washington County Attorney's Office and the respective attorneys involved.
