Ex-Cowboys player released on bond after fatal crash arrest in Richardson, per police
A former Dallas Cowboys player, Kelvin Joseph Jr., has been released from jail on bond following his alleged involvement in a crash that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. On the morning of June 7, officers responded to a crash on U.S. 75 involving a motorcycle, where they found 27-year-old Cody Morris deceased. Joseph later admitted to being involved in the incident and was arrested by Richardson police, who noted signs of intoxication. His bond was set at $1,000 for a DWI charge and $25,000 for the collision involving death charge, which he posted on June 8. Morris, remembered by loved ones as a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed riding motorcycles, has been mourned on social media. Kelvin Joseph Jr. was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, and despite being cleared of charges in a separate incident in 2022, he saw his contract traded to various NFL teams before eventually joining the UFL in 2025. Following his recent arrest, the UFL issued a statement acknowledging the situation and stated they are currently gathering information.
