Engine of car spotted on Speer Blvd post-accident, injuring two on Saturday morning

The Denver Police Department reported on social media at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday that there was a collision on Speer Boulevard at 8th Avenue. Two individuals were sent to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries remains unknown. Nearby resident Paul Johnson, who heard the crash, noted the severity of the damage to the cars. Debris including shattered glass and an engine littered Speer Boulevard, with light and street posts knocked down near Bannock Street. The intersection was closed for investigation but resumed operation at 8:45 a.m. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with factors like potential DUI involvement or a wrong-way driver being considered.
