EMS Assistant Director in Fayette County faces DUI charges in hit-and-run incident
The Assistant Director of Operations for Fayette County EMS has been arrested for causing a crash and fleeing the scene. Matthew McKnight, 46, of Connellsville is accused of speeding and leaving the scene of a three-vehicle crash. McKnight's pickup truck rear-ended a minivan, pushing it into another SUV, leaving one of the drivers severely injured. The District Attorney expressed that this incident is isolated and does not reflect the work of other emergency responders in the county. McKnight has been suspended from his position pending further investigation.
