The tragic climbing accident that occurred over the weekend in Idaho Springs, Colorado has been identified. Idaho Springs Police Chief Nathan Buseck expressed his condolences, highlighting the unusual nature of such accidents in their community. The accident involved a 26-year-old guide named Olivia Copeland from Fort Collins, who unfortunately fell and sustained fatal injuries while guiding a group on the Mount Blue Sky Via Ferrata course. The police department, along with other emergency responders, swiftly arrived at the scene to assist, but Copeland tragically succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have been notified, and investigations into the accident will be led by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and other related agencies.
