The Erie County Sheriff's Office is looking into a deadly collision that occurred in Alden last Friday. It was reported that a Honda SUV and a tractor-trailer collided at the intersection of Genesee Street and Walden Avenue around 4:15 p.m. The investigation revealed that Carol Privitera, 80, of Amherst, was driving east and had paused at the stop sign on Walden Avenue. Meanwhile, a tractor-trailer, which had the right of way, was traveling on Genesee Street. The tractor-trailer proceeded straight, while Privitera attempted to make a left turn, resulting in the accident.
