Elderly LDS missionary killed in lawnmower incident
A senior missionary from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints tragically passed away in a lawn mowing accident while serving in Missouri. Elder Brent Blackburn, 68, was operating a lawn mower at the church’s historic site near Gallatin when the mower overturned on a side hill. Elder Blackburn had been serving with his wife, Sister Carolyn Blackburn, at the site since April 2025. The church expressed their condolences and prayers for Sister Blackburn and their family during this challenging time, and hoped that they would find comfort in the loving presence of Heavenly Father as they remember the life and service of Elder Blackburn.
