Elderly driver causes two accidents on Route 9W, one resulting in death
Two car accidents involving one driver occurred on Route 9W in Bethlehem, NY on Friday. Unfortunately, one accident resulted in the passing of an 88-year-old woman from Glenmont. The driver, William Morehouse, 83, of West Coxsackie, was involved in both accidents. In the first crash, Morehouse's car crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Bethlehem Senior Transportation Service vehicle, resulting in the death of a passenger in that vehicle. Morehouse sustained a leg injury and was taken to the hospital. In the second crash just two minutes prior, Morehouse allegedly crossed into the southbound lane and sideswiped another car, though there were no injuries reported. The Bethlehem Police Department is currently investigating both incidents.
