Elderly cyclist fatally injured in University Parkway accident in Aiken Co.
On Tuesday evening, at 5:42pm, authorities from the Aiken County Coroner’s Office were dispatched to Aiken Regional Medical Centers to look into the passing of a man after a collision. The incident involved a vehicle hitting a person riding a three-wheeled electric bicycle on University Parkway near Arbor Court around 4:58pm. The individual, identified as 90-year-old John Pallazo, was heading east on University Parkway when he was hit by a 2022 Toyota Tundra. Despite being rushed to the hospital by Aiken County EMA, Mr. Pallazo unfortunately passed away at 5:34pm due to his injuries. Both the Coroner’s Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety are actively investigating the case, with toxicology testing still underway.
