
Edison Bridge experiences significant collision
Update at 4:21 p.m. A collision involving seven vehicles has occurred in the eastbound lanes, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Sandusky post. The patrol mentioned that the road will remain closed until the scene is cleared. Traffic is significantly backed up, with vehicles visible as far back as Ohio 53 on the northern side of the bridge. Earlier at 4:02 p.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a major crash on the Edison Bridge affecting traffic in both directions. The eastbound lanes are shut down, causing the westbound lanes to move slowly due to the multi-vehicle collision. Dispatcher Steinbrick of the Erie County Sheriff's Office advised avoiding the area. The crash, involving approximately six cars, occurred in the center of the bridge shortly before 4 p.m., according to Dispatcher Pravlik of the Sandusky patrol post.
