Eastbound M-14 in Wayne County reopens following multi-vehicle crash
Authorities are currently investigating a collision involving multiple vehicles that occurred on eastbound M-14 in Wayne County on Thursday night. The Michigan Department of Transportation disclosed that the six-vehicle accident, which involved a semi-truck, took place around 5:48 p.m. at Sheldon Road and resulted in significant damage to a barrier wall. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. By approximately 10:30 p.m., MDOT confirmed that the crash had been cleared, although some motorists mentioned to CBS News Detroit that they were stuck in traffic for up to four hours. Plymouth police have revealed that the incident occurred within a construction zone, as MDOT works on reconstructing M-14/I-96 between Sheldon and Newburgh roads. This construction initiative, which commenced in 2024, is slated for completion in late 2026. The situation is ongoing, and CBS News Detroit will provide further updates as they become available.
