Early morning crash in Hardin County leaves 1 teen dead, 3 others injured

One teenager is dead, and three others are injured after a crash in Hardin County early Saturday morning.Just before 2:30 a.m., deputies with the Hardin County Sheriff's Office were called out to the 3700 block of John Road for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving injuries.Officials said a preliminary investigation indicated the driver, a minor from Eastview, KY, lost control of the vehicle.After losing control, the vehicle went off the road, rolled several times, and ejected both the driver and front-seat passenger. The passenger, a minor from Elizabethtown, died at the scene.The driver was critically injured and airlifted to UofL Hospital for treatment.There were also two other minors in the backseat of the vehicle at the time of the crash.Officials said they suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Baptist Health Hardin for treatment.The Hardin County Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Unit is investigating what caused the crash.Officials said no further information will be released at this time pending the ongoing investigation and the notification of the families involved.
