A 54-year-old woman riding an electric bicycle was seriously injured in San Diego when she collided with a vehicle after leaving a designated bicycle lane. The incident took place in Talmadge around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday when the rider was traveling northbound on Fairmount Avenue. She veered out of the bike lane, entered the adjacent lane, and collided with the driver's side mirror of a 66-year-old man's vehicle. The rider suffered a fractured hip and wrist and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The police department reported that alcohol was not a factor in the accident, and an investigation is ongoing.
