E-bike rider dies in overnight crash on rural Ventura County road
A man riding an e-bike was killed in a crash on a rural stretch of road in Ventura County early Saturday morning, officials say. According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Camarillo station were dispatched to the 3900 block of Las Posas Road for reports of an “injury traffic collision” at 2:20 a.m. When they arrived in the area, not far from the campus of California State University-Channel Islands, the deputies located an E-bike in the eastbound lanes of Las Posas and a man in the center divider near the bike. Aid was immediately rendered by first responders, who also requested medical assistance; however, the man succumbed to his injuries. His name was not released pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
