DUI driver arrested after fatal Huntington Beach crash with pedestrian

A 21-year-old man was arrested for suspected impaired driving after allegedly hitting and killing a 35-year-old pedestrian in Huntington Beach on Sunday. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Atlanta Avenue and Delaware Street, as reported by the Huntington Beach Police Department. The pedestrian, a resident of Huntington Beach, was struck by a black Audi RS5 and was found unconscious in the street by responding officers. Despite paramedics being called to the scene, the pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased. The driver of the Audi RS5, who is believed to have been impaired, was apprehended at the scene without complications, the HBPD shared in a news release.
