DUI crash in Sonoma County leaves one dead, two injured: CHP

A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on Lakeville Highway in Sonoma County on Sunday morning, resulting in one fatality and two individuals sustaining serious injuries. The incident, involving a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Highlander, occurred near Old Lakeville Road No. 3 when the Mustang attempted an unlawful pass by crossing into oncoming traffic, striking a Honda HR-V head-on. The collision caused the Toyota to veer off the road. Sadly, a passenger in the Honda lost their life in the accident, while the driver of the Honda and the Mustang suffered severe injuries. Fortunately, the occupants of the Toyota were unharmed. The driver of the Mustang was apprehended for driving under the influence. Following the crash, California Highway Patrol conducted an investigation that led to the closure of Lakeville Highway for over four hours. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to reach out to CHP.
