DUI charges filed in deadly Madison Co. motorcycle crash
A man from Cardwell has been arrested for causing a fatal two-motorcycle collision this summer in Madison County. William M. Walker, 49, is currently in custody at the Gallatin County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond after being charged with vehicular homicide DUI. The incident occurred on August 23, 2025, between Twin Bridges and Silver Star, resulting in the death of Clarence Skillman, 61, from Harrison. Walker's blood alcohol level was reported to be .181, more than twice the legal limit. Court documents reveal that Walker, leading a group of motorcyclists, made a sudden U-turn to retrieve his lost hat, causing the collision. Skillman suffered severe injuries and passed away the next day. If found guilty, Walker could potentially face a 30-year prison sentence and a $50,000 fine.
