Drunk driver convicted in crash that resulted in death of Madison Co. motorcyclist

A man who was previously incarcerated for a DUI incident that caused an explosion is now in legal trouble once again. After allegedly leaving a 22-year-old motorcyclist dying at an intersection in April, Cody Vaughn is now facing charges related to the incident. The victim's mother, Stephanie Sigler, reflected on the tragedy that struck her family the day after Easter, as her son, Sebastian Sigler, lost his life in the crash. The delay in receiving Vaughn's toxicology report, which revealed the presence of drugs in his system, added to the pain for the Sigler family. Vaughn is now charged with causing death while driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a deadly accident, both serious felonies. His prior criminal record includes a 2017 conviction for a drunk driving incident that caused an explosion, resulting in injuries to his young children. Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings expressed frustration with Vaughn's repeat offenses and emphasized the importance of consequences for such behavior. While the arrest of Vaughn brings some relief to the Sigler family, they continue to mourn Sebastian, who was passionate about cars and motorcycles and was on the brink of fatherhood. Stephanie Sigler shared that the grief only grows with each passing day. If found guilty, Vaughn could face a significant prison sentence for his actions.
