Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Crash: 1 Dead, 2 Injured
A man from Woodburn, Wilfrido Giron-Cortes Jr., has been arrested and faces several charges including first-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault, and DUII after a serious crash in Marion County. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, involved a black Ford Ranger pickup that rolled over on St. Louis Road NE near Gervais, resulting in one fatality and injuries to two other passengers. Juan Garibo, 27, tragically passed away from his injuries, while another victim suffered a broken neck and a third needed stitches for a leg injury. Giron-Cortes was found to have a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit and authorities discovered multiple open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. He is currently in custody at Marion County Jail and is set to appear in court on Friday.
