Drug bust in Posey County linked to car crash

In Henderson, Kentucky, two individuals were taken into custody on Friday night following a vehicle collision that led to a discovery of illicit substances at a house in Posey County. According to a report obtained by Eyewitness News, authorities responded to a crash involving a single vehicle on Harmony Springfield Road and Bailey Road at approximately 10 p.m. The driver, identified as 66-year-old Michael Roettger, displayed signs of impairment and was determined to be under the influence of meth and marijuana. As a result of the crash, law enforcement officers were granted permission to search Roettger's residence on Bethsaida Church Road, where they uncovered around 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a small quantity of marijuana, four legend drug pills, a syringe, a scale with white residue, and drug paraphernalia. Christine Roettger, Michael's wife, was present during the search. Both Michael and Christine Roettger were subsequently apprehended and taken to the Posey County Jail to face charges.
