Drivers extricated with serious injuries after crash in East Haven
EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Two drivers were extricated from their vehicles with serious injuries after a crash on Monday in East Haven, police said. Around 1:23 p.m., a head-on collision was reported near the intersection of Grannis Street and North High Street. Arriving crews found two vehicles with heavy damage. Both operators had to be extricated from their vehicles and were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. North High Street was closed temporarily while crews extricated the occupants. The roadway has since reopened. The cause of the crash is under investigation. This is a developing story.
