Driver who forgot something at home causes wrong-way US-6 crash

A driver who turned around and drove the wrong way on US-6 in Utah County early Friday caused a head-on crash that shut down the road for over an hour and caused critical injuries.The driver of a Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound in a remote area when he remembered he had forgotten something at home and turned around on the 2-lane road. Witnesses said the man was heading the wrong way against oncoming traffic for about 150 feet before colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Cruze.A medical helicopter was called to the accident scene, and both of the occupants inside the Chevrolet, a female driver and a male passenger, were airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries. Both directions of US-6 were closed following the incident before it was reopened just after 9 a.m.
