Driver switches plea in deadly pedestrian crash

An East Liverpool resident, Paul Vojnovich, has altered his plea from not guilty to no contest in a case involving vehicular manslaughter. The incident, where a 79-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing St. Clair Avenue on April 7, 2023, was addressed in Columbiana County Municipal Court. The plea change has led to the avoidance of a scheduled trial on August 13. The presiding judge, Timothy J. McNicol, promptly declared Vojnovich guilty of vehicular homicide/manslaughter and a sentencing date has been set for August 25.
