Driver suspected of DUI leads chase before colliding with another vehicle in San Diego
A woman was arrested after crashing her black SUV into another vehicle in San Diego's College area early Tuesday morning following a police pursuit. The incident took place at the intersection of Montezuma Road and Collwood Blvd. around 5:00 a.m., resulting in the closure of Montezuma Road to traffic near Fairmount Ave. for several hours. The female driver of the SUV initially ran a red light and did not stop when officers tried to pull her over, prompting a chase that ended in a collision with a blue vehicle at Collwood Blvd. and Montezuma Road. Emergency crews had to remove the roof of the blue vehicle to rescue the male driver, who was taken to safety on a stretcher but is anticipated to recover. The woman was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of suspected felony evasion and potential DUI.
