Driver rescued from burning I-15 wreck, passengers fatally injured, including teenagers

A tragic accident on Interstate 15 in Temecula resulted in four fatalities and two individuals sustaining severe injuries on Saturday night. Reports from authorities indicate that the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., when a black BMW M4 driving northbound on I-15 near Winchester Road crossed into southbound lanes. The BMW, allegedly being driven recklessly, breached the concrete center divider, colliding with a white Nissan Sentra in the slow lane. The collision caused the BMW to ignite, but bystanders were able to rescue the 25-year-old driver from Moreno Valley. Sadly, three passengers in the BMW, a 23-year-old woman, and two teenagers from Moreno Valley, aged 14 and 15, lost their lives at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, a 35-year-old from Wildomar, also succumbed to his injuries while en route to the hospital, with his 22-year-old passenger in critical condition. No evidence suggests alcohol contributed to the crash, and charges against the BMW driver are pending as the investigation progresses. Witnesses of the incident are urged to contact the CHP Temecula Area office at 951-466-4300.
