Driver receives 6-year prison term for deadly Columbia County accident
A judge in Columbia County has sentenced Keegin Neveln of Portage to six years in prison and an additional ten years of extended supervision following a fatal crash in the Town of Lewiston in May 2024. Neveln entered a no contest plea to a hit-and-run charge, while other charges were dismissed and cited during sentencing. After officials responded to the crash and discovered the deceased 21-year-old passenger from rural Portage, efforts to locate the driver, believed to be Neveln, were unsuccessful. Authorities have probable cause to arrest Neveln on felony charges connected to the incident.
