Driver, passenger killed in eastern Iowa UTV crash
Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in a UTV crash in eastern Iowa, on private property near Calamus in Clinton County, according to the Iowa State Patrol.The crash happened on private property in Clinton County around 3:20 p.m. Investigators said a 2013 Polaris UTV left a trail for unknown reasons and entered a watercourse, where it flipped onto its top.The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was taken by ground ambulance to Genesis DeWitt Hospital, where the passenger later died. Authorities have not released the names of the victims pending notification of family members.The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
