
Driver on probation for 10 years after causing fatal crash that claims parents' lives
In Smith County, Texas, a man who caused a fatal car crash that resulted in the deaths of his parents admitted to drinking alcohol before the incident. Jose Bravo Jr. received a sentence of ten years' probation after swerving to avoid a dog on FM 2767 in March 2024, leading to losing control of the vehicle. The crash caused his parents to be ejected from the car, resulting in the death of his father and serious injuries to his mother, who later died in the hospital. Bravo Jr.'s blood alcohol level was found to be 0.107 at the time of the crash. He was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and pleaded guilty, leading to the probation sentence, a two-year driver's license suspension, and 240 hours of community service.
