Driver of postal vehicle dies in crash in north Harris County; other driver in custody, sheriff reports.
A tragic incident occurred on Antoine Drive in northwest Harris County resulting in the death of a postal worker and the arrest of a driver involved in the crash. The collision took place on Saturday morning in the 11700 block of Antoine, close to West Greens Road. The accident involved a postal vehicle and a pickup truck. The postal worker, who was driving the postal vehicle, was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck allegedly fled a minor crash at Antoine and Veterans Memorial Drive, subsequently colliding with the postal truck due to speeding and losing control. The driver was found to be intoxicated after taking a sobriety test. Authorities notified the Harris County District Attorney's Office, which accepted a charge of intoxication manslaughter. The individuals involved have yet to be identified, but the deceased postal worker was 58 years old, while the suspected driver is 48 years old.
