Driver named in deadly Washington County accident
New information has surfaced about a tragic accident that took place in August in Washington County. The incident involved a collision between a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer and a 2023 Nissan Sentra on U.S. 43 near the 30-mile marker close to McIntosh, resulting in both vehicles catching fire. Sadly, the drivers of both vehicles, Kierra D. Hawthorne, 34, of Mobile, and a 16-year-old in the Nissan, were declared deceased at the scene. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has verified the identities of the drivers, as reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
