A driver was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 50 near Sierra at Tahoe Road after investigators said a car made an unsafe turning movement into oncoming traffic. The crash happened May 23, 2026, at about 5:00 p.m. when a 2010 Honda Fit driven by an unidentified man made an unsafe turning movement from westbound U.S. 50 into the eastbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Honda Fit collided with a 2024 Chevy Tahoe on U.S. 50 at Sierra at Tahoe Road. The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
