Driver killed in Frenchtown Township pickup truck collision

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening in Monroe County, Michigan, resulting in the death of a pickup driver identified as Michael J. Procy, 75, from Monroe. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred at around 7:35 p.m. on Fourth Street in Detroit Beach. The initial findings suggest that Procy was driving a black 2023 Ford F-150 pickup eastbound before veering off the road, colliding with various vehicles and structures, and eventually hitting a tree, leading to his ejection from the vehicle. Despite wearing a seat belt and the deployment of multiple airbags, Procy did not survive the crash. Emergency services including the Frenchtown Township Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Monroe Community Ambulance, and other units responded to the scene for assistance. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Traffic Services Division is currently investigating the incident, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact them or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers of Michigan.
