Driver killed in fatal crash in Lafayette Parish
Police in Lafayette, Louisiana are looking into a crash that resulted in the death of a driver from Abbeville. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. last night on LA 724 near Paul Molbert Road. According to Louisiana State Police, Schuyler Lewis, 36, was driving a 2023 Kia Sportage south when the vehicle veered off the road, hitting an embankment, a tree, and a utility pole. Lewis, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is currently being investigated.
