
Driver killed in early Monday morning crash on I-25
DENVER (KDVR) -- A driver was pronounced dead after a Monday morning crash on Interstate 25 near 20th Street. At 2:22 a.m., the Denver Police Department posted on X about a single motorist crash that closed Interstate 25 in the area of northbound I-25 at 20th Street. This is in the Highland neighborhood. The Denver Fire Department was on scene and helped extricate one person. At the time, police said there were serious injuries. However, just after 7 a.m., police said the driver was pronounced dead. I-25 was closed for several hours on Monday morning before reopening around 6 a.m. Just before 6 a.m., traffic was backed up on I-25 as far back as West 8th Avenue. At this time, it's unclear what caused the crash. Police said the crash is under investigation.
