Driver killed in Alaska national park after colliding with moose.
A tragic incident occurred in Denali National Park where a man lost his life, and a woman was injured when their vehicle collided with a moose south of the park's entrance last week. The driver, a 24-year-old citizen of Bulgaria, and the passenger from North Macedonia were traveling north when the accident happened early Friday morning at 1 o'clock local time. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment. The National Park Service is coordinating with the Bulgarian Embassy to inform the families of the victims. The NPS advises the public to be cautious of moose and other large animals that are active during night, dawn, and dusk hours in Alaska, as they may be hard to see. The NPS provides details about moose, noting that they can reach heights between 5 and 6.5 feet at the shoulder, making them the largest members of the deer family. Adult male moose can weigh 900-1,400 pounds, while females typically weigh between 700-1,100 pounds.
